Alert!!! There is a scam fafsa.com website that has you pay $75 to do your FAFSA.
The FAFSA is free Make sure you're on the .gov website!
Before you begin the FAFSA, create an FSA ID, which is your FAFSA username and password. A parent with a social security number or green card will also need an FSA ID username and password.
*Make sure to save this username and password in a safe place!
You are always doing the FAFSA for the next school year. Every year you have to do a FAFSA for the next school year.
The FAFSA is available starting October 1.
